Dungeons & Dragons, Astro Gaming and Extra Life

We’re going big this year for Extra Life 2014. First we opened it up so anybody could join the Dungeons & Dragons Extra Life team and raise some money for the kids by running a game of tabletop D&D or playing other D&D games. 

One of the teams that joined us in playing some D&D is Astro Gaming. If you’ve been to a PAX or follow the MLG at all, you’re proably familiar with them. If not, go check out their site and their awesome headphones now!

They invited us down to play some D&D with them this weekend and we were happy to take them up on it. After we settled into our SF hotel, we met up with our Astro friends at the Extra Life Kickoff event going on at Folsom Street Foundry. What an awesome night!

We played some games, jumped on their twitch stream to talk about our own streams happening Friday October 24th and on into the weekend, and then called it a night to prepare for the next day.

Prepare for what you ask? Playing D&D with the crew all day and then streaming with them into the night! Chris Sims and Chris Lindsay are helping the Astro Family take on some Cult of the Dragon baddies and discover the true secrets of the Tyranny of Dragons as I type this up.

And these peeps are loving it! Most of them have been playing in a game they run in the office and already had characters set up.

Both Astro and Dungeons & Dragons will also be doing 24-Hour streams on Saturday. We’ll be playing 24 hours straight of D&D, and on the Astro twitch, they’ll be doing a mix of tabletop and video games, including D&D. We’ll both be giving away goodies from time to time, so come and be entertained!
